On Friday 11 October, Jean-Marc GIRAULT, teacher-researcher and ESEO expert, took part in the Western ENT Society Day for a conference on the use of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare as a tool for doctors.
At this presentation, Jean-Marc Girault showed professionals in the field of otolaryngology how Artificial Intelligence in healthcare can support them in their day-to-day work.
Imagine AI as a personal assistant
For Jean-Marc Girault, the idea was to show that “AI is there to support doctors, not replace them! It enables them to improve their day-to-day work by optimising themselves and their teams. For doctors, the benefit of Artificial Intelligence is to have an artificial assistant (a generative artificial intelligence) in their daily practice.”
Jean-Marc Girault presented several types of artificial assistants available to ENT doctors for :
- Secretarial tasks such as writing letters, taking notes, voice synthesis for patient follow-up appointments, etc.
- Summarising and writing scientific articles
- Diagnostic assistance
Innovative perspectives that will significantly change the daily lives of healthcare staff and the treatment of patients.
