At the start of the new academic year, and after a summer that was hot to say the least, our first-year students took part in the Climate Fresco.
This collaborative work using visuals to understand climate change and think about solutions is part of ESEO’s CSR approach and an integral part of the training given to future engineers.
Work in several stages
The first step is to create links between the illustrated cards in order to highlight the links between cause and effect.
In the second stage, each team is given carte blanche to add new elements to the fresco (drawings, quotes, collages, etc.)
Finally, the workshop ends with a time for sharing emotions and solutions.
Each stage was closely monitored by facilitators made up of our teachers and members of the administration. They were trained to use the Fresque du climat to support students in their reflection and answer their questions.
The basic idea of an engineer concerned about climate issues
An engineer, lecturer and energy transition consultant for businesses and organisations, Cédric Ringenbach is also the founder of the Fresque du climat.
He says that this educational game makes it easy to explain climate change to the general public.
Indeed, in addition to the ever-increasing temperature, creating a certain disruption, the aim is to understand the reasons for it and discuss the subject.
