The art of persuasion
Being able to express yourself with ease can be a tedious exercise, yet every year there are students ready to take up the challenge.
This exercise encourages participants to address an audience, and to develop their thinking and organisational skills in order to produce a well-constructed, relevant speech.
The DÉMOSTHÈNE inter-school eloquence competition brings together students from AGROCAMPUS, ESA, ESAIP, ESEO, ESSCA, IRCOM and ISTOM. This year, the competition was held on Thursday 28 January in the Jeanneteau amphitheatre at ESEO in Angers, in accordance with the rules governing barriers.
Our school had the honour of welcoming the members of the jury (made up of 2 teachers from each school) and the 13 finalists in the 2021 inter-school eloquence competition. Each candidate had 7 minutes to speak on the subject of their choice, without their notes!
ESEO student wins prize
Among the participants, 2 ESEO students were in the running to win one of the 4 competition prizes: Charlotte Gressier, a first-year engineering student at Paris-Vélizy, and Amélie Dousteyssier, a first-year engineering student at Angers, who won the “Commitment” prize for her advocacy of the cause of migrants.
This final was coordinated and hosted by AGROCAMPUS OUEST and was broadcast live by the STUDIO ESEO club, enabling students from the campuses to watch the performances.
