An intercultural outlook
How can you quench your thirst for discovering the world when you don’t have the opportunity to travel?
To discover other cultures and prepare for working abroad, 67 students from the Paris-Vélizy and Dijon campuses took part in an intercultural project this year.
For these 2nd year Technology and International Prep students, the main aim is to develop skills such as foreign languages, as well as interpersonal skills.
The participants had several months to prepare their report and presentation on a topic of their choice. From the health crisis to the place of women in the technology sector around the world, each working group was free to choose its topic.
Throughout the project, alumni living abroad accompanied the students. To immerse themselves further in the project, the students took part in 7 conferences to exchange ideas with professionals, experts in intercultural business: verbal and non-verbal communication, intercultural risks, conferences on engineering professions and meetings with expatriates.
We hope that the recent government announcements on the reopening of borders will encourage future preparatory school students to set off and discover the world!
The international dimension at ESEO
To prepare them as well as possible, ESEO offers an International course from the first year of the Preparatory Year, which focuses on language learning and includes a cultural project as well as a semester abroad at the end of the2nd year.
At the end of the first year of the engineering cycle, students will spend a semester abroad. This is an opportunity to apply their engineering knowledge and foreign language skills.
Finally, 100% of our engineers pass the TOIEC, an English language certification that attests to their fluency in the language of Shakespeare.
