Launch of the engineer-manager tour - ESEO Dijon

The main aims of this operation are to promote the pursuit of studies in the regions, women's scientific vocations and the attractiveness of the regions.

In conjunction with the Burgundy-Franche-Comté academic region, the Polytechnicum, the Engineering and Management Division of the University of Burgundy-Franche-Comté, is relaunching the Ingénieur.e Manager Tour for the region’s secondary schools.

The main aims of this operation are to promote the pursuit of studies in the region, female scientific vocations and the attractiveness of the region.

From 15 November to 10 December 2021, theIngénieur.e Manager Tour bus will be visiting 30,000 students in the playgrounds of more than 35 secondary schools in Burgundy-Franche-Comté.

This year, agricultural training establishments in Burgundy-Franche-Comté are taking part in the operation.

In the run-up to Parcoursup, the aim of the tour is to promote further study in higher education, particularly in engineering and management schools in the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region.

For one month, a specially-equipped information bus will travel to the most remote secondary schools in the major conurbations of the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.

The aim is to give priority to areas far from major cities, to make it easier to access information.

The aim of the tour is to combat the self-censorship of some young people when it comes to accessing higher education. Many students do not consider studying engineering or management because they are unfamiliar with the courses available, the length of time it takes, the costs involved and so on.

Students in the final year of secondary school, preparatory classes and Bac 2 and, depending on the school, students in the first or second year of secondary school are invited.

10,000 students are studying at these engineering and management schools, aiming for more than 100 specific diplomas in a wide range of fields.

A major engineering school with a strong local presence and part of the University of Burgundy, ESEO trains general engineers in new technologies who can contribute their expertise in a wide range of fields:

  • high-speed machining, industry, agri-food, digital mock-ups and virtual imaging, eco-design of goods and services, electronics, IT, digital, robotics/cobotics, microtechnology, transport and automotive, connected vehicles, energy and mechanics, industrial production, innovation, technology, medical devices, health engineering, bio-engineering, sustainable construction, management, management control, finance, auditing, consultancy, innovation, entrepreneurship, digital, Big Data, etc.
