De nouvelles entreprises au sein d'ESEO Start

Emilien VALAIN and Anthony CAROFF are two 3rd year Bachelor students at ESEO. For their end-of-year work placement, these two web development enthusiasts decided to set up a business in the IT sector. Their first step was to set up their own website , h1dev.fr. The aim is to showcase their skills in CSS, HTML and Javascript to help companies design and develop a ‘responsive’ website (i.e. one that adapts to the size of all types of screen).

However, the pandemic has not left them indifferent to the situation of restaurants, particularly in suburban areas.

The idea came from Emilien. “There’s a pizzeria next door to me in the Vendée. I don’t live in a big town, and there’s no home delivery service, only takeaway sales. I wondered how the pizzeria could manage all the orders, between the calls, the emails, the messages they receive on Facebook… I thought it would be interesting to think about a solution to help them centralise their orders, especially as they don’t all have a website.” From there, in collaboration with Anthony, they asked themselves the right questions: how can we help restaurants in suburban areas to centralise and automate orders? And how to make ordering simple and user-friendly for consumers?

For two months, they came up with a solution: to create a ChatBot-type robot that automatically responds to requests directly on Messenger.

Working with ESEO Start on this project, Emilien and Anthony began designing this order-taking robot. After several weeks of design and optimisation, the two micro-entrepreneurs approached a number of restaurants offering to test their work. The source pizzeria agreed to be the test restaurant for their project.

Ultimately, they want their product to be used by restaurants and foodtrucks in small towns to optimise their time and help them manage their orders. In September, they will be students in their 2nd year of engineering and will be marketing their product at the same time.

Ancobalt: artificial intelligence as a source of new products

Dorian SINDJI and Guillaume PONS, entrepreneurial students in their final year at ESEO, majoring in DSMT (Data Science Multimedia and Telecoms), are developing Ancobalt, a tool for automatically managing cryptocurrency portfolios using artificial intelligence (AI).

These two students are supported in their project by the ESEO Start incubator and Opération Renard by Angers Technopole.

In practical terms, it is a tool to help manage cryptoassets based on artificial intelligence that can predict short-term changes in the value of the asset and adapt its strategies accordingly, in order to balance the risk/return ratio while taking advantage of the volatility of cryptos.

Guillaume tells us that“the advantage of letting an AI take care of trading is that users can avoid making beginner’s mistakes or being taken in by the lure of profit. The world of financial markets involves risks, and this is even truer for the world of cryptos. So we want to enable new users to counter these risks.

Passionate about the world of finance and cryptocurrencies in particular for over 4 years, Dorian and Guillaume discovered the world of artificial intelligence during a 6-month internship in 2019. From then on, they began to think about developing an artificial intelligence to automatically trade cryptocurrencies. It was in 2020, during the first confinement, that they made serious progress on this project and decided to turn it into a business project. Thanks to the ESEO Start incubator, these two students were able to obtain national student-entrepreneur status.

Dorian and Guillaume say they are satisfied with the algorithm’s performance, but to bring it to market, it needs months of real-time testing. Their product will be available in a few months! At the same time, they are available for freelance work in the field of artificial intelligence.

We wish them all the best as they bring their project to fruition.

We look forward to the next stage of their entrepreneurial adventure and wish them all the best for the future!
