Press release / Angers, April 22, 2024
On Tuesday April 9, 2024, ESEO, Grande École d’enseignement, joined Itancia, an eco-responsible group, specialist in communication technologies, collaboration, networks and corporate security, within the Ecological and Social Impacts Chair, alongside Bodet and Capgemini. This chair aims to broaden the training of professionals in these issues, to develop appropriate technologies and to stimulate societal reflection by promoting these solutions through educational actions.
Collaborate in favor of the environment and social responsibility
As an engineering school, ESEO plays an essential role in training future leaders and innovators. In this context, the school signed a 3-year sponsorship agreement with Itancia, a specialist in the adoption of responsible practices, combining technology, economy and ecology. This collaboration strengthens the Ecological and Social Impacts Chair, already supported by Bodet and Capgemini, which aims to train responsible and committed executives. To carry out this mission, Itancia undertakes to pay €40,000 per year to ESEO.
Combining technology with ecology
This collaboration meets three overarching objectives:
- Expanding the training of professionals with ethical and
responsibility in the face of environmental and societal issues. - The development of technologies necessary to support projects and innovations, whether they come from training or research.
- Stimulating reflection around environmental and societal issues while promoting deserving actions, inside and outside of school.
Common areas of action and intervention
The Ecological and Societal Impacts Chair centers its actions around three central themes: sustainable development (protection of the environment, climate, economics of natural resources, etc.), societal issues (social inclusion, feminization, etc.) and quality of life (health, quality of life, smart cities, etc.).
It mainly intervenes in two areas: the labeling and promotion of projects or actions selected after study, and the financing of these projects or actions selected. Its ambition is to be part of a co-financing logic as many times as conditions allow.
The projects are submitted to a steering committee, made up of 6 to 8 people, including the chair holder, a personality from the professional world, partner companies, employees or even students engaged in these fields.
