Press release / Angers, June 13, 2024
ESEO, Grande École d’Ingénieurs, celebrates the exploits of its students who have distinguished themselves in several major competitions: the “24 Hours of Code”, the French Robotics Cup and the UTAC “vehicles of the future” challenge. Victories highlighting the talent and quest for innovation of ESEO students, all of whom follow cutting-edge courses in computer science, electronics and transport engineering.
ESEO students dominate the 24 hours of code
On April 6 and 7, 3 ESEO student teams participated in the “24 Hours of Code” challenge which took place in Le Mans. The participants’ mission was to solve a challenge proposed by 5 partner companies of the event. The objective: To innovate, create, and find original solutions, via programming, for the companies present.
At the end of this competition, two ESEO teams stood out and climbed the steps of the podium. “Free electrons” came in first place. “Traveling electrons”, for their part, rose to second place in the ranking. The two teams worked on the subject STMicroelectronics, a semiconductor manufacturing company.
All the students who participated in this 12th edition are taking the Computer Science and Electronics bachelor’s degree. A course providing access to a secure, double-degree engineering course. With 70% of the training based on project-based teaching and two internships which provide professional experience to students, ranging from 9 to 12 months in total, students will be able to enter working life at the end of their Bac+3 .
“This program was designed to meet a triple objective: to provide students with access
for integration into a company with relevant technical background, allowing them to consider
a secure continuation of studies towards the engineering cycle and training them as an expert. »
Sonia Wanner, director of ESEO.
French Robotics Cup: ESEO, still leader
As part of the French Robotics Cup, 2024 edition, the “Robot Eseo” club, belonging to the ESEO campus in Angers, took the first step of the podium. The competition, which took place this year in La Roche-Sur-Yon, brought together 200 teams passionate about robotics who had the challenge of creating an autonomous robot.
This association brings together around twenty students, who have chosen to follow the “Electronics and connected objects” option as part of their courses. It aims to train engineers capable of designing and developing connected electronic devices that operate wirelessly and energy autonomously. This course is available on the Angers and Paris-Vélizy campuses.
“Vehicles of the future” challenge: ESEO students are reinventing mobility
Organized with the support of the Society of Automotive Engineers, the UTAC challenge is a European student competition organized in a real environment, dedicated to future, autonomous and connected mobility. Participants design vehicles and/or systems related to mobility. On the program: demonstrations of a dynamic, static or virtual nature. For this 2024 edition, students from the ESEO Paris-Vélizy campus, transport and intelligent vehicles option, won first place.
The latter makes it possible to train engineers capable of creating and implementing intelligent systems for the transport sector, particularly in the areas of Data, Cybersecurity and decision support. At the end of this course, students can move on to careers as research and development engineers, test engineers, systems engineers or even validation engineers.
