Professional equality index

Every year, French companies with more than fifty employees must produce and communicate their "Gender Equality Index".

What is the Professional Equality Index?

Law 2018-771 of 5 September 2018 on the freedom to choose one’s professional future introduced new provisions with the sole aim of putting an end to unexplained pay gaps, between women and men.

 

In this context, ‘French companies with more than fifty employees must produce and communicate their Women Men Equality Index every year’.

 

For companies with between 50 and 250 employees, this index comprises four indicators calculated on a total of 100 points. It measures various aspects of equality in the workplace:

 

  • pay gaps
  • differences in the rate of individual pay rises,
  • percentage of female employees receiving a pay rise in the year they return from maternity leave,
  • number of women in the ten highest-paid positions in the company.

 

Companies have 3 years to comply if their overall score is below 75 points.

The professional equality index at ESEO

Management affirms its determination to guarantee equal treatment for women and men, to combat differences in treatment based on gender and to implement any corrective measures that may prove necessary. ESEO is totally opposed to any form of discrimination, including gender discrimination. ESEO confirms its commitment to gender diversity in all its areas of activity.

 

The index in 2024

For the year 2023, the result of the gender equality index was : 93 points out of 100.

 

Here are the detailed scores for the 4 indicators:

 

  • Pay gap: 39 out of 40
  • Differences in rates of individual pay rises: 35 out of 35
  • Percentage of female employees receiving a pay rise in the year they return from maternity leave: incalculable

Number of women in the company’s ten highest earners: 5 out of 10

 

The index in 2023

For 2022, the result of the gender equality index was : 84 points out of 100.
